2025 OSHA Form 300A Posting Begins

Employers should prepare now for upcoming federal OSHA injury and illness reporting obligations. Requirements vary based on employer size, industry, and establishment location.
OSHA Form 300A Workplace Posting Requirement
Posting Period: February 1 through April 30
Employers that had 11 or more employees company wide at any point in 2025 must post OSHA Form 300A, the Summary of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses.
Key requirements:
Applies even if there were zero recordable incidents in 2025
Must be certified by a company executive
Must be posted in each establishment in a conspicuous location where employee notices are typically displayed
Partial Exemptions
Certain employers are partially exempt from routine OSHA recordkeeping if:
They had 10 or fewer employees, or
Their primary business activity is classified as low hazard under OSHA guidelines
Even exempt employers must still notify OSHA of:
A work related fatality
A work related hospitalization
An amputation or loss of an eye
OSHA Form 300A Electronic Submission
Deadline: March 2, 2026
Covered establishments must submit 2025 Form 300A data electronically through OSHA’s Injury Tracking Application (ITA).
Electronic submission is required for establishments that:
Had 250 or more employees in the prior calendar year, or
Had 20 to 249 employees and operate in certain high hazard industries
Coverage is determined by establishment size, not total company headcount. Most employers covered by a State Plan must also submit data through the ITA.
Who Does NOT Need to Submit Electronically
Electronic submission is not required if:
The employer is partially exempt from OSHA recordkeeping
The employer never had 20 or more employees during the prior calendar year
The employer had 20 to 249 employees but is not in a designated high hazard industry
Additional Electronic Reporting for High Hazard Industries
Establishments in designated high hazard industries with 100 or more employees in the prior calendar year must also electronically submit:
Form 300 (Log of Work-Related Injuries and Illnesses)
Form 301 (Injury and Illness Incident Report)
This requirement is in addition to submitting Form 300A data.
Need Help Determining Coverage
Employers can use OSHA’s ITA Coverage Application to confirm:
Whether electronic submission is required
Which forms must be submitted
Whether State Plan rules apply
