
Final Paycheck Laws by State 2024
When should an employee receive their final paycheck? The answer is not so easy as it would seem.
Much like the minimum wage or exempt salary threshold, final pay laws vary wildly from state to state. Under the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act, an employee must be paid by their next regular payday, but many state laws require more immediate payment.
