Maryland Expands Family Deployment Leave
Effective: October 1, 2025
Starting October 1, 2025, Maryland’s family deployment leave law will expand to cover family members deployed through the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the Public Health Service, in addition to the armed forces.
This law applies to employers with 50 or more employees and provides one day of leave when a covered family member is leaving for or returning from active duty outside the United States.
