Nevada Adds Civil Air Patrol Leave

Effective: October 1, 2025
Beginning October 1, 2025, Nevada employers of all sizes must provide unpaid leave to employees who are volunteer members of the Nevada Wing of the Civil Air Patrol for emergency training and response activities.
Eligible employees may take the following amounts of leave per federal fiscal year (October 1 – September 30):
Up to 10 workdays to train for emergency missions
Up to 30 workdays to respond to an emergency mission, including search and rescue or disaster response
Employers cannot require employees to exhaust other types of leave before using this leave.
