Effective September 1, 2025, Texas House Bill 46 expands the state’s Compassionate Use Program (TCUP), broadening access to medical cannabis for patients and updating how the program operates.

The legal threshold for tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in medical cannabis products will increase, impacting how much patients can lawfully possess and use.


Dispensary Licensing:

The law provides a pathway for issuing additional medical cannabis dispensary licenses in Texas.
